Fees and Prices

General information

General information and research support are free of charge. This applies to information about the possibilities of using our collections and information about other archives and libraries. It also applies to easy to find information from indexes and handbooks. The answer will always be general and is meant to guide you onhow to do your own research. If you want us to find specific information in our collections or if you want us to do research on your behalf other fees apply (see below).

General information and research instructions – free of charge

Finding specific information

Finding and reproducing information in our collections for which you can provide us with specific source information (such as name of archive or collection, record number, followed by page number and/or date).
If you do not know this information, or if the information you provide is incorrect, we charge € 5,00 per quarter of an hour for research.

Standard fee per request:
This amount includes administration fee and transfer costs.

Additional costs per copy of certificate or item:

• 1 – 5 pages – € 7,00
• 6 – 10 pages – € 8,50
• 11 – 20 pages – € 10,00
• 21 – 30 pages – € 11,50
• more than 30 pages – price per page as shown under the heading ‘Photocopies’

Research on your behalf

Research on historical and archival level and research for information without specific source information. The information has to be generated from (several) original records and documents.

The Zeeuws Archief staff does not perform genealogical research for customers. Addresses of independent professional researchers are available on request. More information…

Reproductions

Copies of material from our climate controlled storage are made only by Zeeuws Archief staff, you are not allowed to photocopy this material yourself.

On the self-service copier in the reading room you may copy inventories, books and other materials available from the bookcases in the reading room.

Our copies of original records are of research quality. That is, they should be legible, although because of the nature of some of the material we hold this cannot always be guaranteed. We do not guarantee that copies will be suitable for any other purpose. Reproduction activity may be subject to limitations arising from preservation priorities, copyright and donor restriction concerns.

Photographic reproductions

The Zeeuws Archief produces photographic reproductions of very high quality. It is possible to make photographic reproductions of almost any document, drawing, map or photo in any form or shape. The Zeeuws Archief delivers these photographic reproductions only in digital form, on CD.
Reproduction activity may be subject to limitations arising from preservation priorities, copyright and donor restriction concerns. A lisence (use) fee may apply (see below).

CD’s with photographic reproductions

The Zeeuws Archief delivers photographic reproductions in a digital version on CD only. The images on this CD can be printed on photographic paper by any photo service, in various sizes and designs.
The quality of the digital image is equal to that of the original document.

Standard fee per request:
This amount includes administration fee and transfer costs.

• Netherlands – € 7,00
• abroad – € 10,50

Photo on cd-rom, resolution 300 dpi in RGB- and TIFF-format.

• CD (standard fee) – € 3,00

And per image:

• 1 – 25 MB (from original document size up to A4, approx. 24 × 30 cm) – € 9,00
• 25 – 40 MB (from original size A3, approx. 30 × 40 cm) – € 14,00
• 40 – 100 MB (from original size A2, approx. 40 × 60 cm) – € 20,00
• 100 – 200 MB (from original size A1, approx. 60 × 80 cm) – € 30,00
• 200 – 400 MB (from original larger than A1) – € 60,00
• More than 400 MB prices available on request.

This service takes up to 15 working days, depending on the date of your order.
Please note that the Zeeuws Archief does not supply negatives or slides. Microfilms and prints on special paper are available by arrangement. Ask our staff for more information.

Licence fees on images from the collections of the Zeeuws Archief

For the use of images from the archives and collections at the Zeeuws Archief in a publication, exhibition, video, cd-rom, website or any other form of releasing them to the public you need to pay a licence (use) fee. The publication of images must always be reported to the managing director of the Zeeuws Archief prior to publication. The licence fees are:

• Per image, used in black and white – € 22,50
• Per image, used in colour – € 45,00

In certain cases the director of the Zeeuws Archief can grant a remission of the licence (use) fee. Ask our staff for more information.
